This is the 2nd time i typing this, cos someone got and turn off my computer and everything that i type from day 0 to day 8 was erased in an instant. haiz sianz 1/2 and there is , revived of the adventure..... or shd i say the adventure re-begins......
Day 0 (singapore)
Spent the whole day at home trying to pack my stuffs to bring over, seems to be lighter than what i brough to WMC holland. Did not brought any food over there as i heard that there are 7-11 there and i can buy the instant noodle there if i feel hungary. pack and pack and played the piano for the last time b4 i go for 8 days without playing anything, second time in this year liao, or else i had been playing on my natural b piano (cos it is not tuned for 7 years liao, so it is flat till from natural keys to a flater key of a semi-tone). Then did some last minute packing and sorting of my clothes of the full concert attire and went to bed and zzz......
Day 1 (singapore-Guangzhou)
The day that i had been waiting for had finally come !! The day that i going to CHina had come finally, woke up quite early for the first few things in the holidays at around 0600 and go and bath and change into our concert attire, later i will explain why i change into the concert attire. armed with my luggage and my kiwi-ed old No. 3 shoes, i headed down to my void deck to see Jinxing and Weiji waiting for me liao, when i open the door, same comments, yoyoyo Yandaos !!! then what i see for like WTH !! jinxing was wearing casual wear and me formal concert attire. Ligtening STRIKES and Thunder ROARS !! Wt heck man, hahaha, on the journey, weiji was wising us to have fun and i could see his dejection on his face man, both me and jinxing were leaving for so called holiday and mrs ng (obvious right , his GF lah) is leaving for Japan, DOUBLE KO for weiji !! haha !??! but i promise that i will buy something back for him and soon after we reach the airport and i took leave of weiji and he left with his PS2 , preparing to play ace combat 5 again, he an ace pilot man, siao siao one. he is a sickening good flyer juz like my brother, i always kenna thrashed by them in the dogfight in the ace combat. the only games that i can win weiji and my brother is winning eleven !! haha !??! then i quickly run to the toilet and change to half uniform, the casual top and the formal bottoms !! haha !??! what the !?!? soon we board our plane without any hassel and the plane took off smoothly. everything was fine before there is a annoucement by the captain.
"ladies and gentlemen, may i have ur attention, we are predicting that a typhoon might be coming in our flight path and we may had to detour to avoid the typhoon, the new flight path would take a further 20 more minutes to reach Guangzhou, thanks you and have a nice flight."
Diaoz, it is like what the diaoz lor. haha ?!?! typhoon, the only typhoon that i know is the typhoon fighter in ace combat 5 !! ahhaha !??! forget the lame me!! haha !??! then soon after we fly and fly and fly and eat and eat and eat on the plane, so cute play mario and watch a lot of movies on the plane and entertain myself, soon after we reach Guangzhou's newest Bai Yun (white cloud) International Airport, which is the other airport other than our Changi International Airport which can house the latest A380 airbus !! haha !??! then when we reach the customs, we found another name for visitors visting China, ALIENS !!! haha !??! i saw this on the wall of the immgration counter and it say something like this, cos i could not rermber everything
"all aliens, other than China Nationals, pls come to the respective counters for recognition and for checks".
My gang, jinxing, jarren, eng seng, david, guanghan, lawson (aka Blossom) and me and gavin were the last few people to get past the counter and gavin was taken to have a check on his bag and we joke that becuase he look like a terrioist that why ahahah !?!?! soon we went to dinner first which is quite near our hotel and had quite a fill. Soon after we went back to our hotel and saw someone giving out namecards for hmmmmmmm...... censored kids are not supposed to know all this and the old uncle with a baboon, i heard stories from my parents that the baboons are being trained by its owner to steal wallets and others things from them and i quickly told my gang and the others and then we settle down our stuffs and then we meet Ben and the others at the hotel lobby for the first night in Guangzhou shopping spree. I think people have a wrong impression of china not being a shopping paradise, and how wrong were all of us, i changed only 300 RMB (remmingbi) and the rest had a fun time shopping in guangzhou at Beijing Lu (road). Siao one they all, the temperature at night at guangzhou is about 12 degress and they still go and buy ice cream. Siao !! haha brough some sovenoirs from the shop. Soon after we go buy cup noodles from the nearby 7-11 and spent our first day and night in guangzhou and this ends day 1.
Day 2 (guangzhou)
Morning call @ 0830 and in the end, haha everyone was late for breakfast, they had a funny rule that only if the table reach 10 people, then they will start serving the breakfast, so my table very suaiz, got only 9 people, we the 7 swords plus ben and jocelynn (correct spelling or not, or else she will not lend me music foundation skills notes next time if i got her name wrong) !! haha !??! the 7 of us are those who went thru the customs together lor !?!?! then have a dim sum buffet and had quite a fill and then we was ready for the concert at Guangdong Univercity of Forgein Langauages , we had a short tour around the school campus and they told us that tishis is juz one fo the 4 campus connected and i was like what the, their one campus is also the same as maybe one NUS lor !!! (sry for my typo, i typing this @ 0256 in the morning) and we went there for reherseal, their normal school auditiorium is 1800 seaters. i was like what the diao lor !!! juz a normal auditorium is 1800 seaters, the esplanade victoria concert hall can be demolished liao lor. then we played thru our pieces while awaiting the arrival national junior college. Then we was conducted by Mr Jospeh Cheung , the president of the hongkong band assiocation. Then had a combined reherseal with njc and then with the guangdong uni, they only got 1 tuba and we got 9 tubas !! hahaha?!?! soon after we had our fast food packed dinner and we changed to our concert attire. Then there is one xinghai conservatory tuba graduate keep wanting to play Jin Xing 's tuba. hahha ?!?! he play and play and like it even more hgahah !?!? soon after the concert started. although it is almost a 1000 people turned up, but the concert hall like ma chiam half filled and does not looks very impresiive cos we were told that it will be a full house. Soon after we played finshed, there was no encore. I REPEAT THERE WAS NO ENCORE !!!!! diaoz !?!? this is the one and only and first concert to be without an encore. We did our usual thank you speeches and then headed back to our hotel and soon after resting for half an hour, it was time for shopping spree episode 2, but this time we went to the other side of Beijing Road and went to see the olden ruins of the pathway during the Song Dynastry very chio leh, they framed it up and let people see how the ancient ruins roads looked like in the original state very chio, then they went to shops to shop and i did not brough a lot of thins except for some weights training and some clothes. the tempeature was rather cold , about 13 degrees, very shiok !! soon after we met ben and co on the way and we went to eat wan ton noodles t 0200 !! power or not. soon after we were all KO and dragged our wearily bodies back to our hotel ............ (end of Day 2)
Day 3 (guangzhou) adventure in Xinghai Conservatory of Music
as most of us are late for breakfast, they decided to push the morning to 0930, but the prom is, we are still LATE. HAHAHHA !! typical singaporeans ?!?!?!!? then we make our way with my bulkly instruments tuba plus bag, sianz 1/2 lor !! haha !??! then squeeze our way to the bus and make our way to xinghai conservatory, on our way to Da Xue Cheng (Uni city, it is on an offshore island of guangzhou), we went to visit a bee farm, so fun. Then yizhen was like so scared of the bees that she kept running about the farm cos she thinks that the bees will sting her. Anyway i got the chance to really see the queen bee and all the honey and bee-related products that the bee farms produce and the honey water (Mi Tang SHui) was so pure and sweet and fresh that i drank 3 cups of it !! yummy !! a bit pai seh cos i drank jinxing and ben share, cos they think that it is too sweet for them, maybe i am destined for a bee's life, to be ever working !! hgaga !?!? juz joking ben and jinxing, they are also working very hard, one for his YST and one for his Eng/Lit students !! haha !?! then shortly, we part off of the farm and proceed to xinghai. Phew !! we spent about an hour waiting for NJC and then we went to vsit the piano fac. WTH !!! they got 600 rooms with pianos inside which is about 6 storeys !!!! how many pianists are there man !! 600 !! this is really a piano fac block man. imagine the whole of NAFA campus 3 is filled with piano, everywhere every corner !! wth !! ahha !??! why NAFA cannot be like that. ahaha !?!? although some of their pianos are Yamaha , some of them use horner and pearl river !!! haha !??! but it is okay lah, u give me a steinway or a pearl river piano, i still sound as bad !!! hhaha !??! diaoz !!! then we tour around the school and went to showcase our band, they were quite impressed by our sound, of course lah, got NJC gold with honours band leh and NIE !! haha !! they were shocked that we were not music students, except for some of the NIE BA ppl and me NAFA NIE ppl !! haha !??! then we broke down into percussuion, woodwinds and brass sections to have our own activity. I not very sure what the ww did, but i heard from sunshine that it was quite boring, the xinghai ppl playing and demoing their own stuff, percussion side i can only hear laughter from the side, while we the brass had 3 sets of brass qunitet, one rep from NJC, one rep from NIE and one rep from Xinghai, when i say one rep, means the full brass qunitet, 2 trumpets, 1 french horn, 1 trombone and 1 tuba. soon we had our dinner there and there we bade farewell to them. soon again, round 3 of the shopping spree and the last night in Guangzhou , i leave with a good impression, zhujiang, laandmark hotel Canton, bee farm, Xinghai !! haha ?!?!
Day 4 Guangzhou - Hongkong
Went to the 2 music shops and purchased lotsa of scores and instruments accessiores and of course DVD. I brough Lang lang latest Rach 2 and paganini varitation for only s$ 8, and it is original !!!! haha !?!? then the brandenburg concertos DVD s$5, all my exams pieces 5 books cost about s$25 !!! cheap cheap cheap !!
The rest of the journey to the south, Shenzhen - Hongkong shall be continued tomolo .....
